Dr Winsome Abbott provides personalised dietary advice to clients who are referred by their GP or self referred.  With other 30 years of hospital experience as a clinical dietitian across a range of speciality areas, Dr Abbott is a highly qualified dietitian and nutritionist serving the areas in and around Loganholme and Woodridge. 

Dr Abbott established her consultancy in 1998 and has provided practical advice for healthy eating for hundreds of clients, each with their unique needs. Dr Abbott specialises in a range of areas, including:
  • Weight control
  • Healthy eating
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease - elevated cholesterol and blood pressure
  • Mental health - diet advice for people on antipsychotic medication
  • Diet advice for people with eating disorders
  • Vegetarian Eating
  • Vitamin B12 and folate status of the elderly
  • Nutritional support - e.g. for people with cancer or other illnesses
  • Liver disease - nutritional advice

Accreditation and Qualifications
Dr Abbott is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Practising Nutritionist under the Dietitians Association of Australia as well as an academic title holder (Lecturer) with the School of Medicine, University of Qld. Dr Abbott holds a B Sc (London) in Chemisty and Physiology, a Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics (Sydney), a M App Sc (research) from QUT (Nutritional status and outcomes in patients undergoing stomach and bowel surgery) as well as a PhD from UQ (Fat soluble vitamins and function in adults awaiting liver transplantation). Dr Abbott is active in vitamin research and has published papers.
